POOL SIGN-UP JULY 11-17

Hello, neighbors!

It appears that many of you are making use of the pool hours and enjoying your chance to get in the water! It’s sad we can’t just hang out as in past summers, but we are making the most of it!

A couple of important reminders:

If you are unable to make it to a time slot that you have signed up for, please go to the sign-up and delete your name at least 24 hours before so that another family is able to sign-up. Thanks!

You are welcome to check the sign-up in the morning and, if there is an open slot, go down to the pool and check in with the lifeguards and swim. We want the pool to be used while it’s open! We just limit the sign-up genius to two per family to make sure everyone who wants to can have a chance to swim.

Please help us follow county guidelines by only coming to the pool with people who live in your household. This doesn’t extend to people you may have made a “pod” with; it’s only those who live with you in your home.

We have adjusted the time slots for the next week to try to get more families in earlier in the day, and to allow another hour on Fridays and Saturdays. We’ll try it this way and see how it goes. This means there isn’t a 15 minute window between the sessions, so we ask that arriving families wait outside the gate (back several feet) until those leaving can make it out of the gate.

Happy swimming!

Fourth of July 2020

Fourth of July Car Parade

This year’s Fourth of July festivities were very different from years past. But we still managed to have some fun and celebrate the holiday together in a small way. Enjoy the time-lapse video of the parade. And below, see the results of our virtual Four on the Fourth run/walk/bike. Thanks to everyone who shared in this virtual event. Raffle winners will be drawn and contacted this week.

FOURTH OF JULY

Fourth of July will be quite a bit different this year than in years past. Newsletters have been delivered to all of the homes in our neighborhood. This newsletter has all the details about how we’ll be celebrating Independence Day this year. Click here to view the newsletter online.

The Car Parade will begin at 11:00. Begin at the clubhouse and follow the map in the newsletter. Click here to sign up for the Car Parade.

The Four on the Fourth Run will be virtual this year. Click here to sign register for the Virtual Four on the Fourth. When you get your time, enter your details here. Everyone who runs, walks, or bikes the route will be entered in a raffle for a prize!

Remember that the pool will be open July Fourth from 12:00-5:00, but you will still need to sign up for a slot in a section of the pool. The sign-up is in the Pool Sign-Up July 4-10 post on the website.

CALL FOR EMAIL ADDRESSES

Hi, Neighbors!

We wanted to let you know that we have been working hard to secure contact information for all of our neighbors. We had a spreadsheet that was passed onto us with a list of email address, so we had been using that list, along with new email addresses that were brought to our attention. We then found out that we had a Mailchimp account with a set of contact information there. We have combined the two lists and are now reaching around 250 email addresses. Yay!

Those of you on the Mailchimp list, but not the spreadsheet list, may have missed the recent communication about the pool. We are sorry for that. It’s been tricky to gather and combine all of this information. Please know that we are doing our best to reach all of our community members.

We have updated the Mailchimp account so that anytime there is an update to our website (miahomeowners.com), an email will be sent to all of the contacts we have. Please feel free to unsubscribe from this if you are not interested in getting these emails.

If you would like to be added to our email list to receive updates automatically, email board@miahomeowners.com and let us know. (If you received an email about this blog post, then you are already on our list, no need to email.) Or if you know of a neighbor who isn’t receiving updates, have them shoot us an email.

We are attempting to provide as much information as possible to the community and it will always be posted first on the website. (miahomeowners.com) Bookmark it and check back often.

Stay tuned for Fourth of July information coming very soon!

Thanks,
the MIA Homeowners Board

LAP SWIM begins 6/22

Hi, neighbors!

We are excited to begin offering lap swim hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 7:00-9:00 am beginning next week. There will be three lanes available and you can reserve a 50-minute slot for lap swimming. Please wear a mask when you arrive to check in with the lifeguards.

For this first week, as we see what the demand is for lap swim, please limit to signing up for one slot per week. More than one member of a family/household may share a lane. Note that this time is reserved for exercising lap swim for adults and older teens who are interested in time to get a swim workout.

Please understand that we are continually assessing the best ways to do things and making changes as needed.

Click here for the sign-up for Lap Swim June 22, 24, 26.

Please also note that going forward, the sign-up links for the next week’s pool hours and lap swim will be posted on the blog on Wednesday mornings by 9:00 am.
