Due to extenuating circumstances, MIA will need to postpone Oktoberfest this year. We are sorry for the inconvenience and the late notice. So many of our friends and neighbors in Montevideo have been eager to find ways to come together, so we are sad to have to do this.

We look forward to hosting many social events and activities, like the Community Happy Hour tomorrow from 4:00-6:00 at the clubhouse.

Stay tuned for information about Oktoberfest, and we hope to see you tomorrow!

Announcing the Montevideo After-school Clubhouse!

The clubhouse grass area will be open from 2:30-4:30 on Wednesdays, starting this week, for parents and children (parents must stay) to pop by and do a craft, play a game, or just hang out. Everyone should wear a mask while at this social gathering. This is open only to Montevideo residents. What a great opportunity to use our common area to foster community and get to know our neighbors better!

Any questions, contact Paul Sims: palexander.sims@gmail.com.

Hello, neighbors!

After working as Montevideo’s pool and clubhouse manager for over 20 years, Peggy Samson is resigning. A huge thank you to Peggy for all the hours of hard work she has put in keeping our pool running and our clubhouse rentals going strong.

At this time the MIA board is looking to hire a new pool and clubhouse manager. This is a paid position. The job includes hiring and managing lifeguards for the pool, overseeing clubhouse rentals, managing the gardener, pool service, and cleaning service. As well as troubleshooting any issues that arise with the property.

We also have an opening or two coming to the board in the coming months.

And we’d love to have more people join us on committees. We currently have a Facilities Committee that is working on plans to update and improve the pool-house and clubhouse as well as replacing the fence. We would love to start up a Social Committee to oversee activities to get our neighbors gathering in a social capacity. And if there are other ideas from members who would like to start other committees, we’d love suggestions.

If you have an interest in any of these roles (pool & clubhouse manager, board member, committee member, or other) please fill out the google form at this link

Please note, we’ll be reaching out to and interviewing any candidates who are interested in the paid position in two weeks. So please fill it out by September 12 if this is a position that interests you.

Saturday, August 14 & Sunday, August 15–1:00-8:00

The pool will be open weekends only after this week. Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00-8:00.

Labor Day weekend (including Monday) will be the last weekend the pool is open for the season.
